Today the spotlight shines on Bobby, the talented rapper and member of iKON, as he quietly began his military service. Against the backdrop of his recent personal milestones, including his 2021 wedding and the birth of his son, Bobby has been selected to serve his mandatory service as an active-duty reserve soldier.

Anticipation surrounding Bobby’s enlistment began to build when 143 Entertainment, iKON’s agency, announced via the group’s official social media channels on April 4 that both Bobby and fellow member Chanwoo would begin their military duties on May 21 and 27, respectively. Both artists opted for a subdued approach and decided to forego formal ceremonies on their introduction day.

However, in a recent turn of events, 143 Entertainment revealed a change in Bobby’s hire date from May 21st to June 4th. The agency emphasized the decision to maintain privacy, citing security concerns due to possible overcrowding. As such, no additional events are planned for Bobby’s induction day, and the agency is appealing for understanding from both fans and the public.

While preparing for military service, Bobby was active in his music career, appealing to audiences across Asia with his electrifying performances. From wowing audiences in Osaka, Tokyo and Manila during his tour since February to saying goodbye with a heartfelt concert in Seoul on April 30, Bobby has remained committed to his fans both locally and internationally.
