NMC releases another list of 117 colleges that can start or increase the number of seats for PG medical courses

The National Medical Commission (NMC) recently released another list of postgraduate medical colleges that can either start PG courses or increase the number of seats in the existing colleges offering PG medical courses.

While approving the application requests, the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) under NMC has shared a list of around 117 medical colleges.

The official notice read: “Further to MARB’s public notice dated April 28, 2024, regarding applications from medical institutions for commencement or extension of medical courses/seats for PGs, it is hereby announced that the final decision of MARB regarding yet another 117 applications (for commencement of new PG Medical courses and increase of seats in PG Medical courses for the academic year: 2024-25) has been communicated through email IDs (as mentioned in online applications) to the concerned medical institutions/colleges for information and necessary action by them within the stipulated timeline.”

The list containing the application number of each of the above 117 applications (95 applications for starting new PG Medical courses and 22 applications for increase in the number of seats in PG Medical courses) is attached to this public notice for general information.

The notice further read: “It may be recalled that in view of MARB’s public notice with even number dated April 28, May 4, May 10, May 18, May 21 and May 30, 2024, notice was given of the final decision regarding 751 online Applications for PG Medical courses (543 applications for starting new PG Medical courses and 208 applications for increase in seats in PG Medical courses) were already through the email IDs (as mentioned in online applications) communicated to the concerned medical institutions/colleges.”
