Charity car wash this Sunday at Weymouth Fire Station

A charity car wash will be held in Weymouth this Sunday (June 9) to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity and an expedition to Camp Borneo.

The event will be held between 10am and 3pm at the city’s fire station on Radipole Lane, and will feature firefighters washing cars in return for donations.

The station is supporting Crew Manager O’Shea’s daughter as she raises funds for a trip to Borneo where they will undertake a month-long community project work with Camps International in July 2025.

Station Manager Martin Charles said: “The Fire Fighters Charity provides everyone within the fire and rescue service with an essential lifeline when things are tough, whether it’s rehabilitation after an injury or someone else they can turn to during mental health or financial difficulties . Drivers can come and have their vehicles cleaned by our firefighters and make a donation to support these charities.”

The Fire Fighters Charity provides specialist, lifelong support for all active and retired members of the UK firefighting community, covering mental, physical and social wellbeing. It relies on donations to cover the costs of operating its services to support more than 55,000 beneficiaries.
