Taijas says observing his parents’ work as doctors inspired him to study medicine and prepare for the NEET exam. “Right now, I just want to complete my MBBS degree from AIIMS New Delhi. I will see later what I want to specialize in as I am confused between cardiology and radiology at the moment,” he said.

About his preparation, Taijas said he didn’t really study for long hours, but it was more about setting goals and keeping track of them. I studied between eight and eight and a half hours a day. I set an agenda for the day before I started and then tried to complete it. Sometimes it took me longer than expected, but I made sure not to fall behind in my overall preparation for the exam.

When asked what advice he would give to someone preparing for NEET, he said, “Pay attention during class and always review the lessons later. Give practice exams and sit down and analyze your mistakes and what questions you failed to attempt.” He added that when he added up his answers with the preliminary answer key, he was very happy and felt that he could get a perfect score in the exam.

When he is not studying, Tejas loves to play football. He also enjoys listening to music and watching movies to relax, but he doesn’t have any specific favorites. He is currently away from duty and said he will celebrate with his family when he returns home. In 2023, the state topper from Chandigarh in the NEET exam, Bhanu Arora had secured AIR 282.
