LG Electronics marks the world environment

LG Electronics India celebrated World Environment Day by organizing a series of impactful sustainability events aimed at fostering a better, greener future. This year, LG Electronics continued its tradition of encouraging employees to participate in activities that benefit the environment and cultivate a sense of community responsibility.

The celebrations kicked off on June 4, 2024 with an e-waste collection drive at the LG Corporate Office, KP Tower, Noida. Employees participated enthusiastically by bringing in old gadgets for responsible disposal. Multiple awareness sessions on e-waste management were held across India with LG’s recycling partners, highlighting the importance of proper e-waste disposal and management.

On June 5, 2024, sustainability efforts continued with a Plantation Drive at Greater Noida & Pune’s manufacturing facilities. Employees were also encouraged to join their families in planting trees at their homes or other locations. Many shared photos on social media, raising awareness and inspiring others to contribute to a greener planet.

LG Electronics India also prides itself on its sustainable initiatives; the company is carrying out its e-waste EPR commitment in partnership with major recyclers across India.

Since 2021, LG Electronics India has developed and maintained a 3.1 km greenbelt in Greater Noida, along with a Miyawaki forest with 12,000 plants, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to environmental conservation.
