Mashpee, Massachusetts teen missing after high school fight; second teen charged – NBC Boston

A teenage girl missing for days was recently the victim of an attack at her high school, police in Mashpee, Massachusetts said Wednesday, noting that state, federal and local authorities were urgently searching for her.

Aliyah Konton, 15, was last seen Sunday in the Cape Drive area of ​​Mashpee, on Cape Cod. Authorities have said she is considered endangered.

The fight, which police reported Wednesday, involved two Mashpee High School students, police said. Police began investigating on Saturday, May 25 and a 13-year-old girl, who has not yet been identified, is now facing seven charges of assault and battery in the juvenile division of Falmouth District Court.

A video of the alleged assault was shared on Snapchat, police said.

The girl who was attacked during the fight — police have not said when it occurred — was reported missing on June 2 and is “currently the focus of an intensive search using multiple local, state and federal resources,” police chief said of Mashpee, Scott Carline. said in a statement, without using the victim’s name.

Mashpee police had said Monday that Konton disappeared from her home on June 2.

“Our top priority at this time is the safe return of this missing youth,” Carline said. “We realize that this series of events has caused significant public concern and attention and we continue to use all available resources to safely bring this case to a successful resolution within the parameters of the juvenile laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.”

He added that police followed “several leads” as they tried to return the missing girl on Wednesday.
