A teenage girl missing for days was recently the victim of an attack at her high school, police in Mashpee, Massachusetts said Wednesday, noting that state, federal and local authorities were urgently searching for her.

The girl who was attacked during the fight — police have not said when it occurred — was reported missing on June 2 and is “currently the focus of an intensive search using multiple local, state and federal resources,” police chief said of Mashpee, Scott Carline. said in a statement, without using the victim’s name.

Mashpee police had said Monday that Konton disappeared from her home on June 2.

“Our top priority at this time is the safe return of this missing youth,” Carline said. “We realize that this series of events has caused significant public concern and attention and we continue to use all available resources to safely bring this case to a successful resolution within the parameters of the juvenile laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.”

He added that police followed “several leads” as they tried to return the missing girl on Wednesday.
